Because of God's love for us as evidenced through the life, death, and resurrection of Christ, we are now children of God.
We're continuing journaling with God on who He says we are with the prompt "Child of God," inspired by 1 John 3:1-3.
"See what kind of love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure."
Before you jump into the prompts, take a moment to sit with this passage. Read it once, twice, or five times, if you need. After you've sat with it, take out your favorite journal and get ready to journal with God.
- How have you seen the Father's love in your life?
- Ask yourself, "Am I fully embracing my position as a child of God?"
- Ask God, "Father, how can I hope in you today?"
